Typical Loss Prevention Evaluation

A loss prevention evaluation is an assessment of the location's construction, occupancy and fire protection for property insurance reasons. Typical evaluations include a review of the following items at critical locations.

Construction plans which show:

  • Wall construction
  • Fired vessels
  • Roof construction
  • Fire protection systems
  • Overall plot plan of the facilities which is to scale or includes dimensions

Formalized safety programs such as:

  • Emergency notification procedures, in-house emergency organizations, etc.
  • Fire protection/safety inspection programs/routines
  • Testing procedures for fire protection equipment and/or emergency equipment
  • Procedures for handling flammable liquids/gases

Facilities tour highlighting the following areas:

  • Main storage areas
  • Roof and roofing systems
  • Equipment areas
  • Fire protection equipment
