A Real Estate company with properties across the United States had made a corporate decision that impairments to their sprinkler systems would be managed using the FM Global red tag permit system. Despite the orders given to their local managers, there were consistent examples of this procedure not being properly executed.

This concerned the client as improperly impaired sprinkler systems were something they did not want exposing their property. The broker engaged Affiliated FM with this concern and the Account Engineer put together a custom training workshop to be delivered at the company's annual management conference. Once the location managers understood “why” a red tag permit system is important, the company objective was more easily achieved.

A multi-site manufacturing operation in Missouri received advice from an Affiliated FM engineer to consider revising their Flood Emergency Response Plan. The client engaged the engineer in helping train their employees on the actions they would need to take should flood waters become a threat. During a recent storm, the plan was executed and the plant was able to prevent a much larger flood loss.
